Quantum of Solace Out on DVD
No offense to Daniel Craig, but I'm more of a fan of action movies when they a) involve crazy scheming and plotting, or b) use wacky technology like a wrist watch that shoots lasers.
Plus, in Quantum of Solace, Daniel Craig plays a more rough and tumble kind of James Bond, which isn't exactly my cup of tea. Of course, that's just me -- a lot of people love this version of James Bond more than the Bond portrayed by actors like Pierce Brosnan.
Even without all the cool, crazy gadgets, the action scenes were pretty fantastic and definitely kept my interest. That said, I found the rest of the movie to be a bit slow. The "bad guy," Dominic Greene (Mathieu Amalric), was anything but evil; in fact he was pretty bland for a villain.
When all's said and done, Quantum of Solace is a James Bond movie, which makes it a movie you have to see, even if it means you'll take a snooze through it here and there (like I did). Plus, I usually buy DVDs for the special features, and the Quantum of Solace DVD comes with a ton of them, from music videos to a 24-minute special feature about Bond on location. -- Jacki Garfinkel

I did not expect this Bond movie to be so red neck like. But I still loved it. I'm sure all the Bond movies are not to be the same. And the charming Shaken Not Stirred Bond is a favorite of mine. wink ;) But hey' I also liked the rougher Bond.
As for the bad dude (Mathieu Amalric) I thought he did a wonderful job portraying the bad guy. His eyes are amazing. Felt as if he was looking into your soul. I don't think they could have found a better man for this part. He is the reason I kept watching the movie. (I thought.. Who is this? Wow.. he's a good actor.) This is my opinion of course. I hope to see Mr Amalric in more movies. You know he's a director from France. I say he is a remarkable "new" talent to Hollywood. (We need new blood.) ;) I like seeing new faces and new talent.
Just give him a chance guys. I thought it was great! I do wish at the end he went out with a bang though. Instead of how they wrote it. I won't say in case some of you have not yet watched the movie. All Bond movies are a must to see. Enjoy. Thanks for reading. Keep up the great work Mathieu. I'm ur new fan. ;) Angey
